Saturday April 11th, we will have a Photowalk-event! The theme is Bird Photography in urban environment.

We start at 13.00h sharp Gasterij Wasven, Celebeslaan 30, 5641 AG Eindhoven ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/Rd5iPe5ZbB6JwH59A )

This tour will be focused on bird photography. Long-time Photowalk-member Patrick Spruytenburg, an expert in this genre, will guide us around. We start at 13.00 sharp, with coffee or tea. After approx. 30 minutes, Patrick will guide us along the Wasven-estate for his favourite birding spots, and provide tips and tricks to succesfully spot birds, and catch them on camera. We end back at Wasven, with a drink, a snack (pie or worstenbroodje) and of course evaluation and socialising!

NB - The banner-photo of this event is made by Patrick at the Wasven. The cost is 27.50 and includes 2 drinks and the snack.

In the evening, you can join us for dinner a Bottle Distillery (at your own expense); please let us know in advance if you'd like to join us for dinner too, so we can reserve an adequate number of seats.

Two drinks and a snack are included with the price.

A few practicalities:

  • There will be stairs at Wasven in the room we reserved, and at Bottle Distillery too.
  • The walk is over dirt-tracks, there can be mud or slippery parts; wear sturdy shoes.
  • Depending on weather, bring a hat, bottle of water or rain-jacket :)
  • If you come by public transportation: Bus 5 - stop Koudenhovenhovenseweg, bus 6 & bus 322 - stop Van Oldenbarneveltlaan
  • If you come by bike, there are parking opportunities at Wasven.
  • Lens choice: If you want to try to shoot birds, tele is the way to go. But other lenses can be useful for the very nice surroundings.

Photowalk Eindhoven

Our photowalks are specifically designed for people with a passion for photography, and who are living, working or studying in (or near) Eindhoven. During the walks, we will show you the most fascinating spots in the city, where you can make unique pictures. Also, we will provide you with background information on the places we visit. Besides photography, there is of course plenty of time to socialize.

URBAN: Industry - Leisure - Decay

On Saturday August 9th, we will have the next Photowalk!

We start at 13.00h sharp at Station Strijp-S (at the side of Achtseweg Zuid: https://maps.app.goo.gl/5csJaWcX552KMZcH9 )

This time, we will not go over Strijp-S. This walk is setup around contrast: Decaying or even torn down industrial buildings vs new buildings, but also a more serene and natural area. So hopefully we will show you some new photo-opportunities, ranging from industrial, architecture to more natural sights and areas for sporty or laidback outdoors leisure. For sure you will also scout some cool spots for your next portrait-shoot, and maybe you can already practice with your fellow Photowalkers :) 

We will end around 18h with a drink & some snacks. There is opportunity for food and more drinks there, so feel free to join us for dinner.

One drink during the break, and one drink at the end-point is included in the price.

A few practicalities:

* If you come by public transportation: Take the train to Strijp S, or a bus that stops nearby. 

* If you come by bike, we *strongly* suggest to park it at Popei on the other side of the street; you can cross it via the stairs ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/EnNSdcK5kJVub1Bz7 )

* The tour is approx. 5km on mostly paved roads & sidewalks.

* Depending on weather, bring a hat, bottle of water or rain-jacket.

* If you come by public transportation: Take the bus or train to Strijp-S.

* If you come by bike, there are parking opportunities in the area.

* Lens choice: About any lens will do, from wide to tele, depending on your preferences. A wide angle and a short tele, or a standard zoom, will cover a lot photographic opportunities. An ultra-wide or ultra zoom as only lens might be challenging, as the area is more open than Strijp-S.

* Please do not bring a tripod.

Glow Eindhoven 2023 has started! Up to the 18th of November, you can enjoy amazing light art. This year's theme is ‘The Beat’. The organization describes the theme like this: "The Beat defines the rhythm of the city, the pulse of the people who live there, the buzz of our interplay with each other and the patterns of our lives". A theme that sounds engaging for us photographers. In addition, each work of light art provides its own specific challenges, as each is lit differently, and there are many moving images with continually changing exposure. So you will have to work to get good photos.

Glow Eindhoven 2022

Glow Eindhoven is back in its regular format! After 2 years of “Glowing with restrictions”, there is again a single route through the city center. This year, there is also a "Satellite project” at the High Tech Campus, with two more light artworks. In this post, we will highlight a few glowing points of interest in the city center of Eindhoven.
